We have gotten enough commitment from BAC members to participate, that we made the commitment to the staff at Arlington.
In years past I have pretty much ran all the leg work as well as manning the booth at least parts of all 5 days of the fly in.
This year, again, that will not be possible. I am currently experiencing some health issues that preclude me from personally running the show, and I may be able to attend a day in there somewhere (uncertain) ….but I am hoping (read: begging) to get someone to step up and sort of help run the show for the BAC booth.
Our own flying Dutchman, Marty Vanover has stepped up to the plate again and has already expressed some great ideas and thoughts. Please stay tuned to the forum thread on Arlington for the latest updated and for putting your name on the list for volunteering to man the booth for a while.
Your help and efforts in this regard are well worth the effort. The rewards will be a GREAT dinner event,
This is a call to action, last minute as it may be, and we have now committed with the staff there.
PLEASE examine your circumstancesand see if you can’t make room in your schedule to step up to the bat. I would consider it a pleasure to help all the way till the last possible moment, in any way I can!

2012 Air Show Performers
Ken Fowler / Eric Hansen Rocket Aerobatics
Ken grew up in British Columbia and started his aviation career by first earning his glider license in 1977. In 1978 he joined the Canadian Military as an airframe technician and worked on T-33’s, CF-101 Voodoos, and CF-18’s before becoming a flight engineer in 1988. Dr. Eric Hansen was raised amongst aviators and was introduced to flying at a very early age by his father. Although a pilot since 1986, he is relatively new to aerobatics. His first competitions were not until 1999.

John Mrazek
Veteran airshow pilot and performer John Mrazek along with his Harvard Mark IV, “Pussycat II,” will dazzle audiences, spectators, or anyone watching with a spectacular aerial ballet. With lots of noise, smoke, and skill, John’s aerobatic performance will bring the entire airshow crowd to a standstill.

Will Allen
Will was born in Alaska where his grandfather and uncles all had airplanes and he knew early on that he had a love for flying and would become a pilot. He earned his private license almost 20 years ago at a young age but it was only years later he decided to make a full time job of flying, giving spin and aerobatic instructing with his company, Flip Side Aerobatics. He has also been involved with the IAC and competition aerobatics for a few years, placing in the sportsman and Intermediate categories at individual competitions and taking 1st and 2nd for the northwest region the past couple years.
Of course, it’s only appropriate that Will flies a red and white, stars and stripes, American Champion Super Decathlon for his routine. Not only is this a good looking aircraft for the show, but it performs the flowing aerobatics in a way that expresses the music of the National Anthem. Thanks to Clarity Aloft headsets for the clear sound of Will’s vocals and for their support with the technical production of this show.

Hans von der Hofen
Hans von der Hofen, founder and president of Abbatare Inc., has been a developer and involved in aviation for over 30 years. For the past 10 years Mr. von der Hofen has imported Czech Aero L-29 and L-39s into the United States, and in the last few years he has been successful in importing several German Dornier Alpha Jets – the first in U.S. history. Mr. von der Hofen has over 2650 Civilian Pilot in Command hours, a commercial ATP, and remains an avid pilot

Paul Hajduk
Paul Hajduk began flying gliders at the age of 14 in his native country of Hungary. Paul had his first solo flight when he turned 15. Five years later, he arrived in Canada and due to his limited English the only work he could get into in the aviation field was crop dusting and forest fire fighting. This line of work took Paul to places such as Central and South America, South Africa and the U.S.A. Paul flew every aircraft built or modified for crop spraying from J3Cub to TBM Avengers and DC3 and accumulated over 25,000 flying hours. Since crop dusting goes hand and hand with aerobatics, it was just natural for Paul to go out and purchase aerobatic airplanes such as the DeHavilland, Chipmunk and CAP10. Paul currently flys an ASW15 sailplane equipped with a smoke system. He switched from power to glider aerobatics for its elegance and beauty. And has been perfecting his aerobatic routine over the past 3 years.

Vicki Benzing
Born and raised in California, Vicky Benzing has logged over 5000 hours of flight time. An accomplished pilot, skydiver, and aerobatic competitor, she has a passion for everything airborne. Vicky s airplane is a modified German-built single seat Extra 300S. Powered by a Lycon experimental AEIO540 high performance engine and a Hartzell Claw propeller, this aircraft is both powerful and nimble, making it a perfect choice for air show performances and competition aerobatics
