Hello to all the southwest Musketeers.
I have been working on the next Annual Fly-In for the Southwest group. I have been thinking of Furnace Creek in Death Valley on April 24th.I sent an e-mail to the Furnace Creek Inn (See Below). If you have never been there, it is a great place to fly to. The Inn has a Sunday Brunch which is just fantastic. The area is beautiful and they have this garden walk that is wonderful.
If everyone is interested, please let me know before January 19th so I can book the conference room and let them know how many to expect.
This will be a Fly – Drive – Walk or Crawl event. I do not want Carl Foster being the only one there.
Their web site is: www.furnacecreekresort.com Please check them out. They have offered a group rate (see below) for those that would be interested in staying overnight at the Inn. This place is incredible and I think would make an excellent place for our Annual Fly-In.
Look Foreword to hearing from all of you. soon.

Subject: Information from Furnace Creek
Dear Jeff:
Thank you for your interest in Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort. Each year many Flying Clubs make the trip to Death Valley National Park to enjoy the fabulous Sunday Brunch at the historic Furnace Creek Inn. It would be our pleasure to welcome your group in April!
We do have meeting space available from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. on April 24th, the room rental is $150.00. The brunch cost is
$25.00 plus tax for Adults & $12.50 plus tax for Children 12 and under. The brunch is available from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. so perhaps you will want to adjust your meeting time slightly? Believe me it would be worth your trouble, the brunch is always an incredible feast!
Would your group consider staying overnight with us? If so, I can offer you a discounted group rate of $210/per night on a King room at the Inn. If you are interested in rooms at the Ranch the rate would be $110/per night for our standard deluxe rooms. (These rates do not include tax or the $2.50 energy surcharge that would be applied.)
Further info on the airport: The airport is located about 1 1/2 miles from the hotel. There is a phone at the airport that connects to our front desk, which you can use to call for our shuttle van to come pick you up and take you to the hotel. When you are ready to return to your plane, the same shuttle will be glad to take you back.
The airport’s coordinates are N36-27.8; W116-52.8 Waypoint BTY – 114.7 182* 21.2 elevation

Please contact me to let me know if you would like to move ahead with these plans.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We hope to see you out here at the Furnace Creek Resort in the Spring.
Best Regards,
Chandra
P.S. Due to the extreme amounts of rain we have received recently the National Park Service is predicting a very impressive bloom this spring. Hopefully, you will be here to experience the abundance of flowers with us!
