You can now order main cabin door seals, and small baggage door seals, directly from the <a href="http://www.aec-inc.com"AECI website! This project has been underway for more than a year. The pricing is very attractive; $55 for the main cabin door seals, and $50 for the small baggage door seals. If you will need seals, now is the time to buy; both to support a PMA partner, and to avoid any future price increases that might become necessary. These seals should have a very good shelf life.
The small baggage door seals, in particular, have been generally unavailable from Beech. The AECI small baggage door seal is the latest superseding Beech multi-ridge seal design, approved for use on both LH and RH small baggage doors, for all years.
The large cabin door seal is the original -124 style, used until Beech switched to the Duchess lip-style seal for the mid-1979 and later 19/23/24. In my personal experience, the -124 center-bulb style seal works better than the lip seal, on all of the 19/23/24/76 airframes (Duchess included); and it is less expensive to boot.
Our hats should be off to AECI for procuring and offering us yet another lower-cost option, on key consumable items.
Stay tuned for more AECI projects; hopefully there will be more AECI project announcements at BAC-Fest 2007 in Myrtle Beach!.
