I saw that Vantage Plane Plastics in Tucson makes a glareshield for the B19/B24R/C23. Does anyone know how that part differs from the glareshield on an A23-24. At some point I would like to replace mine but Rapid wants $600! Ric Stephens - Beech Aero Club (BAC)

I’m pretty sure that the Vantage Plane Plastics part is the former Kinzie part (Kinzie became the PP branch of Vantage Industries). That part is a vinyl or ABS plastic “shell” that is molded to about the same shape at the original fiberglass and rubber glareshield. You can call them to check for sure, as well as to confirm fit:580-327-1565. Please let us know what you find out. Their link is also on the BAC website:

I have only seen one of these glareshields, and it was pretty substantial; unlikely to give any future problems.
