Where can I find fairings, such as the small one that surrounds the nose gear under the bottom cowling, on the fixed-gear planes?
There are a few sources other than Beech-RAPID. Valid part numbers for the nose gear fairing are 169-910013-31 and -157 (the -157 supersedes the -31). Some have not been publicized, due to not having a website. Here are some references from other BAC members:
Globe Fiberglass is the best known-source for aftermarket fairings. They do not offer all the parts, and their prices tend to be high. All their parts do carry an FAA-PMA, and come with the paperwork. CAUTION! Their PN listing is not always accurate with respect to our planes. Double check your required PN for your serial number airframe, and make sure their PN matches; don’t go by the part description alone. Their link is on BAC.

Ask for David. Nice fit, nice workmanship, fair price. You can see a
display add in Trade-a-plane. May not yet include paperwork; you’ll have to check.
You can find a nose gear fairing at Aero Fairings. www.aerofairings.ca Part # A1007 ; $105.00. Good Luck! I bought one in the summer. The part is
unpainted, not drilled, and the fit was very good, took about two weeks.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Aero Fairings Of Canada produces very good parts, and they offer a sizable BAC discount (see the ‘Product Discounts’ page under BAC Info). Their only “down-side” is that their parts do not come with FAA approval paperwork. They will have to be installed as “Owner-Produced Parts”, or via Form 337 FAA approvals.
