I have spent a good part of the morning speaking with FSS, NWS and others in our group. There is agreement that we must unfortunatley cancel the planned Atlantic City Beech Bash for this Saturday, Sept. 18.
The forecast for the route from New England to Atlantic City on
Friday is 70% – 80& probability of rain and Saturday looks even
worse. The cold front is likely to stall at, or just to the north of,
Atlantic City. Northern and central NJ is expected to get two to four
inches of rain Friday night into Saturday morning.
It may be OK for some who enjoy hard IMC, but it is not suitable for
a majority of the attendees.
Sorry, folks – we did our best. Safety must remain our first priority.
