BAC Nominations and Elections

The Nominations and Elections Committee announces that open nominations will run though the end of November. We have also completed our search for an initial slate of officers and Regional Directors for the Beech Aero Club, per the following rules:—————————

ARTICLE IX – ELECTIONS

SECTION 1 – NOMINATIONS BY NOMINATIONS & ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

The Nominations & Elections Committee shall between October 1 and November 15 nominate candidates for the office of President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and the seven (7) Regional Director seats. The committee may nominate more than one member for any position.

SECTION 2 – OPEN NOMINATIONS

Between November 16 and November 30 any member may nominate any member, including himself/herself, for the office of President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and the seven (7) Regional Director seats. A member may only nominate a candidate for the Regional Director seat for the region of which he is a member.

SECTION 3 – ELECTIONS

Election of officers and directors will be held between December 1 and December 15. Voting will be by electronic means whenever possible. Any member wishing to vote on a paper ballot may do so by requesting one from the Secretary-Treasurer. The Nominations & Elections Committee shall establish procedures for the conduct of elections.

————————

From now through the end of the month of November, open nominations will be taken from the general membership.

Those members that have paid dues for the current year my nominate candidates to stand for election for their own geographic Regional Director, and for the offices of President, Vice President, and Secretary-Treasurer.

The geographic boundaries are listed below to aid you in confirming that any RD you’d like to nominate actually lives in the same region that YOU reside it.

SECTION 3 – REGIONS

There shall be seven (7) regions defined as follows:

East Central Region – The East Central Region shall consist of the states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin and the Canadian province of Ontario.

Northwest Region – The Northwest Regions shall consist of the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming; and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, and Saskatchewan.

South Central Region – The South Central Region shall consist of the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas; and Mexico, Central America and South America.

Southwest Region – The Southwest Region shall consist of the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada and Utah; and Australia, Asia and all islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

——————————

The process is intended to allow any member to nominate 1 Regional Director, and a President, VP and Sec-Treas candidate for each office.

Out of courtesy to those being nominated, please ASK FIRST if they are willing to serve, unless you are nominating yourself for an office, which is allowed.

No one is allowed to stand for election for more than one office, so if anyone is nominated for multiple positions, they will be allowed to choose which office they will stand for election, and any other offices they might be nominated for will have their name removed from the ballot.

Nominations may be made by replying to either or both members of the Nominations and Elections committee, Tim Flight and Bob Steward. You may email either of us through the Contact Us page.

Thank you for adding to the resources available for your Fellow BAC Members.
