BACFest 2016 – Branson, MO

Your BAC team is hard at work planning for next year’s BACFest celebration! Make sure you “pencil-in” the timeline of mid-September through mid-October as the potential time frame for BACFest 2016. We are speaking with several potential sites to host our event so stay tuned for specific dates and accommodation information in the near future.

Our host airport for the event will be the M. Graham Clark Downtown Branson Airport (KPLK). Here is a link to the AIRNAV information for this facility: https://www.airnav.com/airport/KPLK
Some of you might recall an incident in the news regarding the Downtown Branson Airport when a Southwest Airlines 737 mistakenly landed at this airport. The runway is only 3700′ long, quite a feat for this type aircraft. The proper airport the jet was looking for was KBBG, here is video of the departure from KPLK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohWB_09Rrks

Us locals call into the airport as “Clark Downtown traffic, Sundowner 1234D, 5 miles northeast inbound for a left downwind runway 12.”

Branson is a great vacation destination in Southwest Missouri with amazingly beautiful lakes – Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals Lake. There are Shows, Shows and more Shows. There is Silver Dollar City, a wonderful family entertainment park. There is amazing hiking, horseback riding, water sports, range shooting, and shopping. Just north of Branson in Springfield, MO, you will find the home of Bass Pro Shops and the “grandaddy of all the Bass Pro Shops” as its called where it all started. This Bass Pro has an amazing firearms museum with very rare arms. Springfield is also home to O’Reilly Auto Parts too! Johnny Morris, the founder of Bass Pro Shops, has amazing resorts and golfing here in Branson. A must see if you have time during your stay for BACFest is the “Top of the Rock.” Here is a link: http://www.topoftherock.com/. Top of the Rock is amazing. There is amazing golf. There is amazing dining. There is amazing views. Johnny Morris had the old barn from Arnold Palmer’s childhood disassembled in Pennsylvania and reassembled here at Top of the Rock. It is now a fantastic eatery. I hope you make plans to see Top of the Rock if time permits. Johnny also has a beautiful resort named Big Cedar Lodge and if you have more time before or after BACFest, the resort is something to see.I hope you start to make plans now for BACFest 2016. Stay tuned to this website for more information as plans come together for a great experience in Branson, MO!
