South Central KDRI Fly-In 3/26/11 Part One

For the first official Fly-In of 2011 for the South Central Region, Deridder, LA KDRI played host for the first time to the Beech Aero Club on March 26, 2011. Despite gusty winds and broken cloud cover, the turn out was good and the fellowship fun for all.

The first member to come in was Bo Boggs and his lovely wife Sandra, who flew in Friday evening to pass the director torch to myself and my wife Ashley.

Bo passed the region banner on and, as we listened to stories from Bo and Sandra of their trips around the country in their trusty mouse, it became apparent to Ashley and I that although Bo may be passing the responsibility of being a director on, I would always be on the lookout for him and Sandra to stop in at any fly-in as long as the clouds steer clear of Sandra!

As Saturday morning dawned with low clouds and the winds up, the locals at KDRI finalized preparations for the fly-in.

Bo and Sandra arrived as well as several local EAA chapter members and the hangar talk commenced. Just as the smell of bar-b-que pulled pork and the allure of homemade banana pudding started pulling folks towards the food table, Cloyd Van Hook arrived from Reserve, LA.
